Strategy – Naming – Identity – Digital
Claydon Reeves have over 30 years of experience in the superyacht industry. Their sole aim is the creation of unique and progressive designs through a tailored and flexible process. Unrestrained by the limitations of traditional precedents Claydon Reeves are looking ahead to develop superyachts that endure far into the future.
The logo had to reflect the outstanding quality and high end nature of their work, whilst developing a distinctive style that would set them apart from their competitors. The finished mark draws inspiration from the shape of a wave and elegantly uses one carefully crafted line to create the partnerships initials CR.
Typography, colour and patterns
Influenced by technical drawings, the brand colours comprise of classic black, blue and grey tones with warm yellow and orange highlights. The typeface Gotham is modern with a strong design aesthetic and complements the minimal nature of the symbol. To add texture and recognition, flowing patterns were produced by repeating the symbol. This symbol can also be crafted into specific motifs used for seasonal messaging.
Stationery and sketchbooks
Claydon Reeves design and build multi-million pound superyachts, so it is important their brand and subsequent collateral reflect the world they work in. From a spot varnished logo on their business cards to foiled titles and premium finishes on their hand-bound books, we used bespoke materials and processes in all areas of their communications.
Advertising is important to Claydon Reeves as they exhibit at various shows around the world, including the Monaco Boat Show. Imagery plays a vital part in demonstrating their expertise and appealing to the market. So within each layout we endeavoured to ensure that the striking images of the superyachts take centre stage.
When designing the sketchbooks, we wanted to show the starting point of each of the boat designs and how these are transformed into detailed renders. The sketchbooks allow the designs to come to life and help to engage the client in the process of designing a world class yacht.
Website & social media
The website is designed with maximum impact in mind. The superyachts sell themselves so it was imperative that we made the most of the imagery by showing the full extent of their interiors and exteriors. The site needed to be easily navigable, almost becoming a sketchbook itself with the ability to flip between different designs on the home page.
